Responders Appreciation Day - 9/11 Memorial Dedication
Feb
20, 2010, 11:00 am, Town Hall
| Come
celebrate as we thank our First Responders, including area police,
fire, ambulance, and military. And a once in a lifetime event
this year will be the dedication of the 9/11 Memorial and
Garden between Town Hall and the Library. This is an actual
piece of the World Trade Center Twin Towers that were destroyed
in the 9/11 attacks. Dignitaries from NY and across the country,
State and National Legislators, regional Honor Guards, military
and
First Responder Pipe and Drum Corps, local high school bands,
and a memorable presentation by family members of the 9/11 tragedy.
After the dedication, the
First
Responder Appreciation Day will continue with live entertainment,
lots of food and beverages, a Kids Fun Zone, free bicycle safety
helmets in the Safety Zone, a bounce house and more. For more

Dine
in Downtown Windermere
Mar
13, 2010
RESERVE
YOUR TABLE TODAY ! This event was a hugely successful and largely
attended event last year. And this year, the Downtown Business Committee
will host this soon-to-be annual event. Gather your friends, family,
work buddies, or any other group and get ready for fun. The theme
this year is AT THE MOVIES. So pick your favorite movie, and theme
everything at your table. The food, decorations, costumes, music
(if you want), everything ! Last year's winner was Slumdog Millionaire.
You reserve the table (8 seats) and bring the themed food and beverage
and decorations. Tables and chairs, ice and water, and the good
times will be provided by volunteers from the Windermere businesses.

Sidewalk Safety
It is THE LAW in Florida to yield for pedestrians
in a marked crosswalk. This includes the crosswalks at Fifth and
Main, Sixth and Main, and in the middle of the block at the flag
pole. There is also a crosswalk on Sixth Ave by Johnson Park, and
another at the end of the Isleworth wall. Watch your speed, and
watch out for pedestrians and cyclists.
